Thy Kingdom Come!
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
— The Declaration of Independence
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
— Jesus the Messiah
The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!
— Great Voices in Heaven (Revelation 11:15)
When our Creator and Savior after taking on the human form of Rabbi Jesus had fasted for forty days and forty nights with no food and no water, he was physically weak. At this point, a very powerful being approached him. This being was originally an archangel named Lucifer. Lucifer had been created as a beautiful being and he had access to God’s throne room in the third heaven. Lucifer fell from this esteemed position. At the point in time when he approached Rabbi Jesus after Jesus’ fast, Lucifer was stationed on Earth and he had control (as he still does until this day) of the governments of this world. While Jesus was physically weak, Lucifer made him an offer. The offer was: fall down and worship me and I will give you all the governments of the world. Jesus made no attempt to correct Lucifer that these governments were not in his power to give away. Jesus knew that Lucifer could, indeed, make good on the offer. Jesus refused the offer. You and I can learn and know from this incident, that the governments of the world are controlled by Lucifer, or Satan, or the Devil. ALL the governments of this world are under his control. Let’s please not misunderstand, God the Father created and still controls the entirety of all existence, but Lucifer has been given charge of this world. Lucifer “won” this world when he DECEIVED Mother Eve, and then Adam followed her. Lucifer still has temporary charge of this world even to this day. And yes, that includes the good ol’ U.S. of A.
We learn from the 4th Chapter of Matthew that after Jesus’ fast, Lucifer took him to a high mountain and showed him all the governments of the world in a moment of time. Have we ever wondered how Satan could do that? What mountain is so high that it can be used to view all the governments of the world? There is no such mountain, is there? So what is this scripture saying? Is it a fallacy in scripture? No, it is not. The problem is with translations from the original Greek and a lack of ability on the part of the translators to grasp the possibilities.
The translators normally say something similar to this: “Jesus was taken up into a high mountain, and shown all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.” Upon reviewing the meaning of the Greek words, we find that the meanings can also be the following: high could be translated as “lofty place”; mountain could mean “lifted above the plain”; and moment usually means “instant” or “at a point”. Thus we might translate the scripture as follows: Jesus was taken up into a lofty place which was lifted above the plain, and shown all the kingdoms of the world in an instant (or at a point) of time.
Now if this truly happened, and it did truly happen, where was Jesus taken? How was he taken? And how could one view all the governments of the world at a point (or instant) in time? Where do we know of in the twenty-first century that would be a lofty place above the plain where one could go to see all the governments of the world in a short period of time? If we cannot think of such a place, perhaps we could enlist the input of John Glenn or Alan Sheppard or Neil Armstrong to help us with an answer. Yes, it would seem that just possibly, Lucifer took Jesus into orbit around the world. This would be a lofty place above the plain, and one could witness the whole world and all of its governments. Could this help answer some of our questions about UFO’s?
The idea of UFO’s in the above paragraph is only addressed as a possibility. Since we aren’t told as a certainty, we can only guess, but the idea of a space vehicle orbiting the Earth is not completely illogical in this instance. We are left, though, with the “point in time”. Human astronauts have not been able to accomplish such feats in an “instant” of time. Or if they have done so, the public has not been made aware of it. However, the “point in time” or the “instant in time” is not totally foreign to some of the ideas we gather from Einstein’s thoughts in physics. This concept is surely above the heads of most all of us, but we do know that the concept of the alteration of how we view time on a day to day basis can be brought about through space travel. We also know from scriptures in Job that Lucifer had access to God the Father’s throne room. We also know that God the Father’s throne room is outside our space-time continuum. We must therefore conclude that Lucifer has some knowledge of how to pass through the barrier of our space-time continuum. It seems logical to conclude that Lucifer took Jesus outside our space-time continuum. Whether or not this was accomplished by some type of orbiting UFO, we cannot be certain, but certainly some technology above that of what the human public is commonly aware was utilized to transport Jesus outside our space-time continuum and to allow him to witness the governments of the whole Earth. We can obviously see that this was NOT a high mountain to which our Savior was transported, but it WAS a HIGH (lofty) technology.
We are told in Ephesians 6:12 that “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” More often than not when we read this scripture in Ephesians, we really pay little attention to it. But if we stop and read it carefully, and then determine the meanings of the Greek words used prior to the scriptures’ translation into English, we can come away with some very interesting information. And let’s not overlook the introductory phrase in this verse which tells us “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood.” After referencing Strong’s Greek Lexicon, the New American Standard Greek Lexicon, and the Online Bible Greek Lexicon, we can see that the words used for “rulers”, “authorities”, and “powers” in this verse can mean the following:
- Rulers: magistracy of angels and demons
- Authorities: superhuman magistrate
- Powers: lord of the world, prince of this age, the devil and his demons, a world-ruler, an epithet of Satan
From the original Greek, we can discover that “Kosmokrator” is the Greek word used in Ephesians 6:12 that is translated into English as “Powers.” Let’s note that in the Septuagint (a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures which was done in the 3rd century B.C.) version of Daniel 10 the Greek text uses the same word kosmokrator when referring to the being that controlled Greece. We read that the angel Gabriel tells Daniel that he (Gabriel) is going to join the angel Michael in his fight against this kosmokrator. So we see that two of God’s angels are in battle against the power behind the nation of Greece, or against a kosmokrator. Let’s remember that the same Greek word is used both in Daniel 10 and in Ephesians 6. It would seem that Kosmokrators perhaps manipulate human leaders to obtain their desired outcome. Wouldn’t we also suppose that it would seem a safe bet that each of the kosmokrators has numerous lower ranks of fallen angels under his command? We can begin to grasp that there is a cosmic spiritual battle taking place and that the people of Planet Earth are the often used pawns in the would-be war against God’s throne. The battle is being led by Satan. We get a very telling glimpse into Satan’s intentions in Daniel 10. It certainly seems plausible that each nation in today’s world is controlled by a kosmokrator.
I John 5:19 – ….the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
Revelation 11:15 – The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!
Let’s pay particular attention to the scriptures immediately above. Both of these were written by the Apostle John. In his first epistle, he tells us that the whole world, which would of course include the governments of this world, is under the control of Lucifer. Later, as John is charged with inscribing the Revelation as to events yet future which was provided to him by Jesus, after the time when Jesus ascended to the right hand of his Father’s throne, John tells us that the kingdoms of this world have BECOME (referring to a prophetically future event) the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. We can readily see that if the kingdoms, or governments, of the world are to BECOME the Kingdom of Jesus, then it necessarily follows by sound logic, that those kingdoms, or governments, are not now the Kingdom of Jesus. From this verse in Revelation 11, it is safe to conclude what we have already been told in I John: these kingdoms must now be under the control of Lucifer. Later in the 19th chapter of Revelation, John tells us more about the coming takeover of the world’s governments.
Revelation 19:15-16 – Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations (governments). "He will rule them with an iron sceptre." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
We see in this scripture that Jesus the Christ, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS is to “STRIKE DOWN” the governments of this world and then establish his Kingdom of God in this world. The Holy Bible very plainly teaches us that the nations, the kingdoms, the governments of this world, though temporarily allowed by God the Father, ARE NOT GOD’S government. Our Holy Bible teaches us that not one single nation in this present world is God’s government. All nations of this world are controlled by spirit beings. The chief of those spirit beings, who is Satan, likely has a kosmokrator in charge of each individual nation.
Holy scripture, upon close scrutiny, reveals to us that God the Father uses – or at this time allows – some form of a spiritual parliament to govern planet Earth. A few writers have referred to this spiritual parliament as the “THE HEAVENLY DIVINE COUNCIL”. Extremely few people in our world understand the manner used by God the Father to govern this earth, but a careful study of the following few scriptures along with those already referenced above reveal to us with clarity that the Holy Bible teaches the existence of this spiritual parliament on Planet Earth.
The Septuagint was a third century B.C. Greek rendering of the Holy Scriptures. This translation was found to be quite accurate when compared to the Hebrew manuscripts found among the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran. In 1851, BRENTON’s translation of the Septuagint into English gave us the following wording in Deuteronomy.
DEUTERONOMY 32:7-9 – Remember the days of old, consider the years for past ages: ask thy father, and he shall relate to thee, thine elders, and they shall tell thee. When the Most High divided the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God. And His people Jacob became the portion of the LORD; Israel was the line of His inheritance. (Brenton's LXX)
The book of Jasher, though not officially a part of the biblical canon, is quoted in the Holy Bible. This fact should offer us some validity to the book. The book of Jasher contains the following passage which may be a reference to the Heavenly Devine Council.
JASHER 9:31-32 – And they built the tower and the city, and they did this thing daily until many days and years were elapsed. And God said to the seventy angels who stood foremost before him, to those who were near to him, saying, Come let us descend and confuse their tongues, that one man shall not understand the language of his neighbor, and they did so unto them. (pub. 1887, J.H. Parry & Company, Salt Lake City, Utah)
The phrase “the host of heaven” appears several times in scripture. Carefully studying the context of all the scriptures where this phrase appears, provides us another indication of the existence of a spiritual parliament which is used (or allowed) by God the Father.
II CHRONICLES 18:18-22 – Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and His left. And the LORD said, 'Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?' So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, 'I will persuade him.' The LORD said to him, 'In what way?' "So he said, 'I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And the Lord said, 'You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.' Therefore look! The LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the LORD has declared disaster against you." (NKJV)
On page 495 of the New Bible Dictionary we can read concerning the host of heaven, “The Bible certainly suggests that angels of different ranks have charge of individuals and of nations; no doubt, in the light of modern cosmology this concept, if retained at all (as biblically it must be), ought properly to be extended, as the dual sense of the phrase 'host of heaven' suggests, to the oversight of the elements of the physical universe--planets, stars and nebulae." We can also read concerning the “Lord of Hosts” which is one of the names or titles of God the Father, that this term “is thought by some to have arisen as a title of God associated with his lordship over the 'host' of Israel; but its usage, especially in the prophets, clearly implies also a relationship to the 'host of heaven' in its angelic sense; and this could well be the original connotation."
By grouping the host of heaven with “other gods”, Jeremiah informs us that at least some group of people at some time has worshiped the host of heaven as gods. Indeed, many Hebrew scholars say that the grammar in the passage below is saying that the host of heaven and the “other gods” mentioned are one and the same.
JEREMIAH 19:13 "And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled like the place of Tophet, because of all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and poured out drink offerings to other gods." (NKJV)
We see again in II Kings that the “host of heaven” was worshipped by people.
II KINGS 21:3-6 – For he [Manasseh] rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. 4 He also built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will put My name." 5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. 6 Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger. (NKJV)
In Deuteronomy 4 verse 19 there is a statement that seems to possibly be saying to us that the host of heaven has been appointed (or allotted or assigned) to all the peoples under the whole heaven, while at the same time telling the followers of Moses not to worship this host of heaven. I.e., though the human population of the world has been assigned to the host of heaven, God’s people are not to worship them.
DEUTERONOMY 4:19 – And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven. (NASU)
When we read all the available verses on this subject (only a portion of which are referenced here), it surely seems logical that Paul’s reference in Ephesians 6 to principalities and powers and rulers must be a reference by him to the host of heaven. The host of heaven has been around from the beginning of the creation of the universe. There are numerous other scriptures we could include in this discussion, but it is assumed that we can get the idea from what is offered above. In the New Testament there are numerous scriptures which use words such as powers of heaven, or power of the air, or others. When we read the Holy Bible, we should read such passages with “the host of heaven” in mind. We can then perhaps become more enlightened as to whom and what are the true rulers of this world.
There is one more very clear passage which we should not leave out of this discussion. It is one which is specific in that God is before the “divine council” and condemns the council’s actions concerning their unjust judgments of people. This passage also states plainly that this council will suffer judgment. There are various other scriptures which refer to their judgment by fire. Let’s please read Psalm 82:1-8. It speaks for itself.
PSALM 82:1-8 – God has taken His place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods He holds judgment: "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, you shall die like men, and fall like any prince." Arise, O God, judge the earth; for to thee belong all the nations! (RSV)
It is quite difficult for most of us to accept that our beloved country is under the charge of Lucifer or Satan or the Devil. How can that be? It would be quite a DECEPTION, would it not? Let’s consider the title of this chapter: “THY KINGDOM COME”. Most of us recognize this as a phrase from what we commonly call the Lord’s Prayer. Do we stop and consider exactly what this phrase means? Are we not praying for God’s Kingdom to come to Earth? Is not the very next phrase, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”? So, we are asking for God’s kingdom (or government) and God’s will to come to and fill the Earth. Is that not what we’re praying? Now riddle me this – if God’s Kingdom (government) is not now on Earth, and we pray that it will come to Earth, whose government(s) or kingdom is here now? Jesus, when he was here as a man, and was tempted by Lucifer with the offer of rulership of all the governments of the world did not deny that the governments of this world belong to Lucifer. Why would Jesus not retort that rulership of the governments of this world was not Lucifer’s to give? Jesus made no such reply because he knew that they were indeed under Lucifer’s charge – all of them. We still, to this day, pray for God’s Kingdom or government to come to this world. For two thousand years now, people have prayed this prayer and the rulership of the governments of this world has not yet been changed. Lucifer still retains that rulership of the governments of this world, including the United States of America.
When we pray “Thy Kingdom Come”, for what exactly – what type government – are we praying? Revelation 19 teaches us that Jesus the Christ will return WITH HIS SAINTS as a conquering king when he strikes down the nations of this world and that he will be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We can thus know that at his return, Jesus the Christ will set up a world government or his KINGDOM. It will be global and it will be a dictatorship – with a King. But it will be a benevolent dictatorship to those who love the King and keep his commandments.
What else do we know about this coming Kingdom which will have Jesus the Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? We know that there will be other kings, since Jesus will be the Kings of Kings. Who will these kings be? We don’t know many specifics, but we do know that King David will once again be the King of Israel. This does not refer to the modern nation that we call Israel today which is made up of only the re-gathered Jews from the old southern Kingdom of Judah. But it refers to a re-gathered nation of all twelve tribes of Israel from both the old Southern Kingdom of Judah and the old northern Kingdom of Israel. The verses following attest to David’s throne being forever over Israel, and since David will be resurrected, he will sit on that throne.
Hosea 3:5 – Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Psalm 89:3-4 – I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations.
Psalm 89:34-37 – My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me. It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven.
In addition to knowing that David will reclaim his Kingship, we also know that in the coming Kingdom of God that all Christians will be KINGS and Priests. In Revelation 1:6 we are told that “He has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father”. Thus it seems a safe conclusion that the kings or leaders of the future Kingdom of Jesus on Earth will be the established true followers of Jesus.
What other things do we know about this Kingdom of Jesus on Earth? We know that it will truly be a much different world than this in which we now live. All animals will be tamed and will not harm humans or each other. There will be neither pain nor destruction in the entire Kingdom.
Isaiah 11:4-9 – But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
The above passage seems to be a fairy tale to most who read it, but it is the word of the Living God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. We can know that in the Kingdom of God on Earth, babies can play with lions and no fear will be experienced by their parents. We can know that animals will not harm each other. We can know that the entire world will be vastly different from the world in which we now live. So says God the Creator.
What else can we know that will be different? We know that when the original nation of Israel was brought out of Egypt, they were told that they could be disease free if they would follow God’s instructions. Since all people in Jesus’ coming Kingdom will be compelled to obey his precepts, we can thus know that the coming Kingdom will have no physicians or hospitals because there will be no diseases for them to treat.
Exodus 15:26 – If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
We also know that the whole world will keep and observe the Holy Days of God as outlined by Moses in the 23rd Chapter of Leviticus. We know this because Zechariah in prophesying of the Kingdom tells us that those which might choose to not go to Jerusalem to observe the Feast of Tabernacles will find themselves hungry. He specifically says that they will get no rain if they fail to observe this festival, and it follows that if they get no rain, then they can grow no food.
Zechariah 14:16-17 – And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Truly there is a new world order coming to Planet Earth. Social customs will be completely re-vamped. The government which our Savior Jesus the Christ will establish will possess no military of men because Isaiah 2:4 tells us that swords shall be turned into plowshares, and spears into pruninghooks, that nations shall not lift up swords against nations, and that neither shall they learn war any more. There will be no police force. There will be no prison system. There will be no medical system. There will be no banking system as we know it today because there will be no compound interest, or any type of interest or discount, in Jesus’ economic system (Exodus 22:25). There will be no insurance companies, because there will be no disasters. There will be no drug or pharmaceutical industry, because there will be no sickness. Though there may be abundant knowledge concerning chemicals, there will be no chemical industry producing toxins and pollutants. There will be no space program. There will be no pornography industry. There will be no political system, because there will be no one running for office. There will be no “church” (500+ denominations) or religious industry; people will properly worship their King and their God.
Since there will be so many fewer social, health, and financial concerns and since all will receive proper instruction, it is quite likely that families will have much more time together. Parents will be taught to teach their children better social values. Home schooling may be so rampant that public schools are a rarity, and any public schools which exist will not usurp the authority of parents. Children will not have to get their shots before entering school; vaccinations will be non-existent. Most families will probably have a garden, and they will not get their (non-genetically modified hybrid) seeds from Monsanto; they will save their own seeds from the previous year. All people will keep a set of holidays (holy days) established by God. The Ten Commandments will be the law of the land and they will be enforced. Since people will not steal from each other, or kill each other, or commit adultery, people will thus learn to trust their fellow man and will grow to love all their neighbors. Yes, there truly is a new world order coming to Planet Earth, but it will not be the brainchild of the United Nations; it will be the Kingdom of our Savior and Lord and King, Jesus the Christ.
So how should we feel about this world and its governments in which we find ourselves today?
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
— 1 John 2:15
