Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

— The Bridegroom

NOTE: The savior whom we commonly refer to as Jesus (the) Christ was called Yeshua by his Hebrew friends and followers. When referring to Yeshua the Messiah (or the Christ) in Hebrew we would say Yeshua HaMashiach. So for this one chapter, since his close friends, family and followers called him Yeshua, Let’s refer to our Savior as Yeshua.

Who is the bridegroom? Who is the bride? Even a cursory look into the teachings of the New Testament, tells us that Yeshua chose the analogy of bride and bridegroom concerning himself and the church. Jewish custom was that after the bride and bridegroom were betrothed, and prior to the consummation of the marriage, the bridegroom would spend one to two years preparing a dwelling place for the new couple. When the new home eventually received the seal of approval from the father of the bridegroom, then the bridegroom would go to retrieve his bride and bring her to their new home.

At this point in time, Yeshua, the Bridegroom, has been preparing a home for his bride, the Church, for almost two thousand years. But let us remember, a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a single day. Let us also remember that it took Yeshua six days to create the heavens and the earth and all that in them is, and then let’s try and imagine what he has prepared when he has had two thousand years to accomplish it.

In the last chapter we looked at mathematical proof that Yeshua is the Messiah or the Christ. We arrived at that proof through prophecy. We can gather from that mathematical exercise that prophecy from the Holy Bible is a substantial and valuable tool for us. We can gather that perhaps we should give more attention to prophecy, especially since upwards of 30% of the Holy Bible is prophecy. What else can we discern from prophecy? What else should we know? Is it truly that important? It was plainly stated by Yeshua in the first century that the inhabitants of Jerusalem were responsible for knowing the time of their visitation, i.e. the time when He, the Messiah, was to arrive in their city. The Jerusalem population as a whole did not know. The consequences were serious. Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed by the Roman army in 70 A.D.

Luke 19: 41-44 – And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, if thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

How was the populace of Jerusalem supposed to know that the time of the visitation of the Messiah was at hand? They were to know because it was plainly spelled out in prophecy. The time of Yeshua’s entry into Jerusalem as the Messiah was specified certainly as to the general time era he was to arrive, and probably to the exact year, and possibly to the exact day. The prophet Daniel had written down the time in the 9th chapter of his book of prophecy. Daniel gave the exact point in time when the countdown to the Messiah was to begin, and then he wrote that the countdown was to last for 69 sevens or 483 years. The people in Jerusalem should have been eagerly and anxiously awaiting for the Messiah when Yeshua rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and proclaimed himself the Messiah. They were not ready. They were not waiting. They were not watching. They missed it. The consequences were enormous.

Is there anything that we in the 21st century should be aware of from prophecy? Is there anything that we’re responsible for doing or being aware of when it comes to perhaps knowing where we are on God’s calendar? From the example of the Jews in first century Jerusalem, we should take the lesson to heart. We should be very aware that we are admonished in Luke 21:36 to "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. " The Apostle Paul tells us in his first letter to the Thessalonians chapter 5 beginning in verse 2 "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. " So after telling the followers of Yeshua that they were not in the darkness and that they should be aware lest the day overtake them, Paul then admonishes Christians in verse 6 to "not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. " And then Yeshua himself tells us through the Apostle John in Revelation 3:3, "Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not WATCH, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. "

So, for what are we to watch. We are to watch for the return of the Messiah, or the Bridegroom. Remember the parable of the virgins in Matthew chapter 25 which is copied at the heading of this chapter? Five of the ten virgins did not watch because they had no oil in their lamps to provide light with which to watch. These five were left behind. We should be watching for the Messiah. We should be watching for the LAST DAYS or LATTER DAYS which are referred to in numerous prophecies. Yes, we could say that it has already been two long millennia, but we can also say and know that we have been told to watch. And we know that prophecy provides us signs for which to watch. And we can know that Yeshua said that the signs would be all completed within one generation. So when the signs do begin –whenever that might be – we had better remember the parable of the ten virgins and we had better be WATCHING and PRAYING for the protection of Yeshua the Christ.

There are a truly large number of professing Christians today who are preaching that we (our generation) are living in the "LAST DAYS" prior to God’s kingdom on earth, or as often referred to in the sacred scriptures the "LATTER DAYS". There is even a lager group of professing Christians who along with agnostics and atheists readily scoff at the very idea that these are the last days, and who, indeed, delight in poking fun at the inane idiocy of those who promote such ridiculous ideas. This latter and larger group are, unbeknownst to themselves, actually fulfilling one of God’s prophecies given through the Apostle Peter. We’ll get to that prophecy later in this chapter.

In Matthew 24 verse 34, Yeshua tells Peter, James, John and Andrew -- his four closest followers – "verily I say unto you, THIS generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled". It is manifest from various other scriptures and from actual history, that Yeshua was not speaking of the generation alive at that time in the first century. From any good Greek lexicon we can discover, that the word which has been here translated into English as "this", could just as easily and just as correctly have been translated as "the same", "this one", "such", "that", or "which. " I like "that. " So let’s say "THAT generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled". We would be just as correct, and actually more correct, than the King James translators in this instance.

SO – what do we have here? Yeshua, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, has just told us that the signs or indications or "birth pangs" prior to his Kingdom on earth would all take place in ONE GENERATION. Is there any other place in scripture, save the other gospel accounts, that tells us that these things are for a single generation? Yes, there is, but before discussing it, let’s read from the following Psalm. It has some important information concealed in a few of its verses.

Psalm 102: 2-18
2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
12 But thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

Let’s not miss the last statement which is verse 18? THE GENERATION TO COME, is referred to here. What generation to come? Could it be the generation in which some of God’s people -- descendants of Abraham, descendants of Israel, descendants of Judah (Jews) – were consumed like smoke and their bones were burned (verse 3)? Could it be the generation in which some of God’s people were so smitten and withered that they sometimes forgot to eat (verse 4)? Could it be the generation in which some of God’s people had their bones cleaving to their skin (verse 5)? Could it be the generation in which some of God’s people ate the ashes of their friends who had been burned in a furnace and drank those ashes mingled with tears in their drink as those ashes floated out of the smokestacks and settled on all the surroundings (verse 9)? Could it be the generation when the CREATOR of all existence once again began building up ZION with the descendants of Israel (verse 16)? (A complete study of the word Zion reveals that it refers to Jerusalem and Israel. )

From Easton’s Revised Bible Dictionary, ZION is defined as: "….the south-eastern hill of Jerusalem. When David took it from the Jebusites he built on it a citadel and a palace, and it became "the city of David". In the later books of the Old Testament this name was sometimes used to denote Jerusalem in general, and sometimes God’s chosen Israel".

For almost two thousand years, the Jews had no nation. ZION was not a physical nation of God’s people. In 1948, that changed. What other people in all of history have been dispersed into all other nations for nineteen centuries, and then commenced re-gathering into their new nation – but at the same old location? Is not God "building up ZION" (verse 16 above)? And is it not very possible that perhaps a few of the verses noted above refer to the Jewish Holocaust? And remember, God said that the things referred to in these verses would happen in the space of one generation (verse 18 above)!

Okay, now that we know that we’re looking for one generation at some point in time, what are some of the signs or indicators of that generation? It, of course, goes without saying that the generation referred to has not been any generation in history. Thus, the generation with which we are concerned is either our generation or a future generation. It surely seems when we study the problems (social, environmental, economic, political, religious, population growth, military and technological expansion) of this world that we perhaps cannot have too many generations left. Perhaps we should watch very closely.

In this chapter we will look at ten indicators which signify the last generation prior to Yeshua’s Kingdom on earth. Let’s take them one at a time, and see what is happening in our generation that has been written in the Holy Bible and prophesied to happen prior to the return of the Messiah.

Approximately 2500 years ago, God’s prophet Zechariah recorded "behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah (the Jews) and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it" (Zechariah 12:2-3). When in history has any city or any people been a problem for the whole world? Jerusalem is not a major manufacturing center. Jerusalem is not a major trading center, nor on any "trade route. " Jerusalem is not a major seaport. Jerusalem is not a major educational center. Jerusalem is not a major art center. Jerusalem is not a major military center. Jerusalem is not a major mining center. Jerusalem is not on a major river. Jerusalem possesses no known major material wealth. Jerusalem is not a large city by world standards. By world standards there is no reason for Jerusalem to be a problem to the world. Yet Zechariah said 2500 years ago that it would be. And now, in this present generation, we can see in our daily news reports that it’s not incorrect to say that Jerusalem is the fuse to the powder keg of the entire world. Let’s remember also, that this prophesied siege was to be not only against Jerusalem, but against Jews. For the first time in 1900 years, the Jews again have Jerusalem. For the first time in history, most all nations of the world are angry and bitter toward the Jews and are beginning to siege both the Jews and Jerusalem. An extremely large percentage of UN resolutions are aimed at the Jews and Jerusalem – both of which represent one of the smallest nations in the world – WHY? And it’s all happening in this present generation.

Approximately 2600 years ago, the prophet Daniel recorded that in the time of the end that "men would run to and fro on the earth" (Daniel 12:4). In researching the original Hebrew we can learn that the phrase used implies a quickness and even an eagerness involved with a roaming back and forth. We have to ask ourselves, when in history prior to this present generation, have people had the opportunity and luxury of relative inexpensive jet-speed travel to almost any spot on the globe? When in history have so many people worldwide been so truly eager to travel to distant locations and return? When in history have people ever remotely approached the amount of "to and fro" travel which has been done and is being done and, indeed, has become commonplace in this present generation?

Daniel also recorded at the same time – approximately 2600 years ago – that at the time of the end "knowledge shall increase" (Daniel 12:4). Here, a little research into the original Hebrew shows us that the Hebrew was much more expressive than the English translation in reporting that this increase in knowledge would be "greatly multiplied" or "exceedingly great" or "provided in abundance". For about 2½ millennia after Daniel’s prophecy the world rocked along with precious little change. Then, just since perhaps the early 1800’s, there began to be a greater exchange in knowledge and communication among people: knowledge began to increase in the world. And then, during the 1900’s, the rate of increase in knowledge began to rise sharply. That rate of change has since increased exponentially. Most of the modern conveniences experienced by the more fortunate countries of the world became in vogue only during the latter half of the twentieth century. Most of the technology typically used by society today has been on the shelf for only two or three decades! Today, experts estimate that the amount of knowledge in our society doubles every eighteen months, and some experts even put that figure at every ten months! From the time Daniel recorded the above prophecy until a couple of hundred years ago, the amount of knowledge in the world may have doubled at the rate of once every eighteen CENTURIES, but when in history prior to this present generation, has the amount of knowledge in the world doubled every eighteen months? When in history prior to this present generation, has the amount of knowledge in the world remotely approached or remotely challenged the vast mountainous amount of technocracy which rules our day to day lives here on earth in this present generation?

Jesus held the citizens of Jerusalem responsible for not knowing the time of his visitation.

LUKE 21:41-44 -- And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Almost 2000 years ago Yeshua, told his closest followers, "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. " (Matthew 24:15-18). Notice that Yeshua holds us responsible for understanding what he said here ("whoso readeth, let him understand"), just as in the first century he held he people of Jerusalem responsible for not knowing the time of his visitation.

Shortly afterwards Jesus’ first visitation, the people of Jerusalem experienced the destruction of their city and their Temple because they had not properly accepted and acted upon their responsibility. A vast number of men, women and children brutally lost their lives in the ensuing destruction of Jerusalem after the citizenry refused to acknowledge the time of the visitation of their Messiah! When our Savior tells us "whoso readeth, let him understand," perhaps we should pay particularly close attention, and perhaps we should study the topic until we understand it, while praying for the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit in completely comprehending the subject matter to the best of our human ability.

Let’s now ask ourselves, what exactly did Yeshua say in the above verses? He told us that Daniel spoke of the "abomination of desolation". And he told us that the "abomination of desolation" would be standing in the HOLY PLACE. Since Jesus referenced the Prophet Daniel, let’s also read just what did Daniel have to say about this? Daniel 9:27 tells us, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate". And Daniel 12:11 tells us, "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days".

An entire study on the above scriptures and the "abomination of desolation" and their meanings would be quite involved and lengthy. For our purpose at this juncture, we need only to note a couple of items. First, we notice that the particular action mentioned occurs in the HOLY PLACE. Second, we note that this prophecy refers to someone – some "being" – causing the sacrifice to be taken away and causing the sacrifice to cease.

In addition to God’s Tabernacle built by Moses in the wilderness, there have also been two temples built in Jerusalem. Both of these were destroyed. The yet future one referred to here would be the third temple.

We need to know just what is the HOLY PLACE? Even a cursory study of the Book of Exodus tells us that the Holy Place was in the tabernacle (and later in the Temple). We can know that Yeshua is no doubt referring to the temple (or possibly tabernacle) when he says HOLY PLACE. Not only is he referring to the temple, but almost certainly to the HOLY of HOLIES (the innermost sanctum of God’s Temple). We can also know that Daniel must be referring to the temple (or tabernacle) when he writes of the sacrifice ceasing, simply because the sacrifices to which Daniel referred took place in the temple. Therefore, we can recognize that both Yeshua and Daniel (to whom Yeshua’s prophecy pointed) are indirectly speaking of the temple. I.e. , the temple was indirectly, but most certainly, involved in their prophecies.

Let’s notice that the prophecies we’re looking at here in Daniel and Matthew both involve the TEMPLE and the LAST DAYS. We might think that the problem is, or would seem to be, that the temple was totally destroyed in 70CE. How can this prophecy be fulfilled when the temple was destroyed over 1900 years ago? And we also know that the caretakers of the temple (the Levitical priesthood) were scattered to all nations of the world beginning at the same time? We can see that the fulfillment of these prophecies must require that there be a temple (or a tabernacle) in place in Jerusalem. We recognize that there would have to be an order of the Levitical priesthood to rule and operate the temple for the fulfillment of these prophecies. We understand that these priests would have to have established daily sacrifices which could then "cease" or be "taken away" for the fulfillment of these prophecies. How then can this be, we asked ourselves, since the temple was destroyed over 1900 years ago? Well, not to worry – after 1900 years of being dispersed and abused throughout the world, the descendants of Israel (or at least the Jews who include the Levitical priesthood), since 1948, have themselves a nation again! (That in itself has to be miraculous!) It’s in Jerusalem again! (That has to be miraculous, also!) And even more – Israel has a very dedicated, well trained, possessing all required temple implements, ready and raring to go, quorum of Levitical priests ready to begin operation in the NEW TEMPLE which they are planning to build. These people already have all the building materials and plans to supposedly complete construction of a new temple in less than one year! All that is holding up the project is the required government approval. That is astonishing!

Let’s recap what we just read concerning these prophecies and the temple: From the above prophecies of Yeshua and Daniel, we have to have a temple (or tabernacle) and we have to have re-instituted sacrifices, so that these sacrifices can be stopped. And we now have the nation of Israel back in place to make this happen (after 1900 years without a nation of Israel or Judah). And we have all the building materials for the massive structure of the temple. And we have the trained priesthood ready to go. One more item: as of 2003, the temple mount has been experiencing foundation problems due to the great amount of excavation that has been done by the Palestinians on the temple mount. These foundation problems, some Muslims fear, could possibly lead to the collapse of the existing Muslim buildings on the temple mount! (To make more room for the temple?) Should we add just one more thing? – After 1900 years with no nation of Israel to make all of this happen, it is now happening right before our eyes in this present generation.

Over 1900 years ago the Apostle John, while in captivity on the isle of Patmos, wrote "And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. " (Revelation 11:8-9). In these verses, John is describing the fate of the two witnesses who shall prophesy during a portion of the final seven year period immediately prior to the Kingdom of Yeshua on earth. The thing we want to note here is that their dead bodies were witnessed by the people of kindreds (with an "s"), and tongues (with an"s") and nations (with an "s"). In other words, during this three day period, when their bodies were not moved, people the world over witnessed their dead bodies. So let’s consider, how could this have happened prior to the mass marketing of television which only began in the late 1940’s? Remember that this mass marketing of television has occurred in this present generation.

Over 1900 years ago the Apostle John, while in captivity on the isle of Patmos, wrote these words: "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. " (Revelation 13: 16-17). This scripture involves the "mark of the beast" which is another topic altogether, but for another reason, this is a scripture that over the centuries has greatly puzzled many students of the Holy Bible. In fact, it seemed so impossible in the past that many sincere Christians simply did not believe it meant what it says. After all, how could all people be controlled in their buying or selling activities? This prophecy, which we now understand requires a cashless society, has truly been a puzzle until this present generation. Now, it is not that difficult to imagine. In our society, goods and services have become so compartmentalized that all levels of our social structure are virtually dependent upon buying and selling. Today, with credit cards, electronic transfers, internet purchasing and implantable microchips which can contain our entire financial history, it’s not too much of a stretch for us to imagine a "cashless society" upon which all are obliged. In a cashless society, with our modern computers and technology (which is already in place) buying and selling could potentially be totally controlled! There are reports that the UN and the governments of the world already have the concept in place in this present generation and are already working toward getting us to the condition of a cashless society. Though it seems that this cashless society is still decades away (which it may be), a catastrophe of global proportions could bring this type of economy into being almost overnight. Imagine a major nuclear attack by terrorists. The government would (supposedly) not know to whom or to what other government, some form of retaliation should be applied. Under pressure to prevent such occurrences in the future and with all people being frightened that it might occur again and again, the people of the world would anxiously submit to being "micro-chipped" so as to supposedly control any transactions that might involve materials for weapons of mass destruction. An economic meltdown which could throw the markets and economies of the world into chaos could also be a catalyst to institute the micro-chipping of all peoples. When the population of the world is thus micro-chipped, then buying and selling can be controlled to the extent that only those with such chips could buy and sell. In our world today, we have the technology to make this happen within a matter of months or less. This technology did not exist until this present generation.

Almost 2000 years ago, Yeshua told his closest friends, "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. " (Matthew 24:22). After Yeshua said this, the world rocked along for over 1900 years without any tremendous change in man’s ability to destroy himself from the face of the world. And then, WHAM – in this present generation our scientists have designed and we have built enough nuclear weapons to destroy every living thing on fifty worlds the size of the earth! And those military experts in the know – from a report that I read thirty years ago – tell us that these nuclear weapons have no where near the potential of biochemical weapons! Now we know that in the thirty years since that report, we’ve perfected scalar weaponry, HAARP, lasers, and particle beams. And who knows what else? And all of this has been in this present generation.

Over 1900 years ago the Apostle John, while in captivity on the isle of Patmos, wrote "And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them". (Revelation 9:16) Here John prophesied of an army of 200,000,000 at a time when the population of the whole world has been estimated to have been less than 200,000,000. Logistics experts estimate that no army can exceed 20% of the population of the country. So for an army to number 200 million, the country supporting the army would have to have a population of one billion people. Only during this present generation has any country been able to boast a population of one billion people. China now possesses the population to potentially field an army of 200 million.

We should note that though this prophecy seems to be a significant indicator, there are a couple of potential problems. First, a good argument can be made that the reference to the 200,000,000 is referring to demonic supernatural beings. Secondly, if it is referring to humans, there seems to be some serious and seemingly insurmountable problems according to the logistics experts as to exactly how to handle the movement for such a huge army into the Middle East.

Over 1900 years ago the Apostle Peter wrote, "First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions and saying, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.’ They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist have been stored up for fire, being kept until the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men. " (II Peter 3: 3-7).

NOTE ON UNIFORMITARIANISM: Though this is a completely different subject, we should note that if we begin from a standpoint of no knowledge of God’s word, and then proceed to study the Earth and the universe, we’ll find that there is evidence of a universe that is 15 billion years old. This evidence then leads us to evidence that perhaps the Earth is 5 billion or so years old. We should also be informed that there is at least as much scientific evidence (and likely much more) that the earth is less than 10,000 years old as there is that the earth is 5 billion years old. And this evidence is scientific evidence – non-biblical, non-religious – strictly scientific.

Remember, at the beginning of this chapter, we noted that the scoffers were actually fulfilling prophecy? Well here is that prophecy. Throughout history, when was there a time when so many people – such a large percentage of earth’s population – scoffed at the idea of Yeshua literally returning? Scoffers have certainly always been around, but we can surely agree that the numbers of scoffers have been vastly fewer until this present generation. We now have a world full of scoffers. There’s something else here that is not always readily evident if we read the above passage quickly without slowing to study it slightly. If we read this passage in context and study it carefully, we can conclude that Peter was contrasting uniformitarianism with catastrophism. Uniformitarianism is the geological doctrine that existing processes acting in the same manner as at present are sufficient to account for all geological changes throughout history (i.e. the universe is 15 billion years old and the earth is 5 billion years old). Catastrophism, on the other hand, is a doctrine that says "hey man, Noah’s flood was a big one!" Let’s note that Peter says that the scoffers will say "all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. " Peter also says that "They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water. " Peter has here prophesied that people of the latter days would actually deny the Creation itself! When, prior to our generation has any culture denied the Creation and proclaimed that all the universe popped out of nothing and that humans evolved from a puddle of muddy water or from a rock? Peter then goes on to talk about the flood. Let’s then ask ourselves, when, prior to this present generation, has a large group of scoffers preached uniformitarianism in all of our major universities worldwide while at the same time denying that the flood took place? A blind man can see that the scoffers are fulfilling Peter’s prophecy of the latter days.

Our number ten is based strictly on circumstantial evidence. But the circumstantial evidence is enormous when we seriously study into it. Those who may not have studied about this to any degree will likely find it weird and totally ridiculous, but they should not discount it until they’ve looked into it. The evidence is truly enormous.

Almost 2000 years ago, Yeshua told his closest friends, "For, just as the days of Noah, so, will be the presence of the Son of Man. " (Matthew 24:37). So, what was going on in the days of Noah? One of the things going on was, that "the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose". (Genesis 6:2). That’s correct – FALLEN ANGELS were procreating with human females. This part of history is talked about in greater detail in the "Book of Enoch" which is not a part of the biblical canon but which is quoted in the Holy Bible. The same is true of the "Book of Jasher" which is not a part of the biblical canon but which is also referred to in the Holy Bible. Such references certainly attribute some degree of validity to these books.

Incidentally, this perverse form of procreation which resulted in angel-human crossbreeds may have been the major reason for the flood. Noah was "perfect in his generations" as stated in Genesis 6:9. This verse is telling us that Noah was still genetically pure. The rest of the world was filled with angel-human genetically altered cross-breeds.

Do we see other evidence in the Holy Bible that prior to Yeshua’s return we will have cross-breeds on the earth? Yes. Daniel 2:43 states "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. " Here Daniel is interpreting a dream concerning the major empires that will come along in this world. The last empire has "iron mixed with miry clay" meaning, Daniel says, "they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men". We can readily grasp that the word "they" as used in this verse, has to mean something other than human, since "they" were mingled with the seed of humans. These are the two most obvious scriptures which seem to refer to the angel-human connection.

A few highly respected and highly educated individuals have studied into UFO’s and into alleged abductions. Those who haven’t kept up with this "weirdity," will be surprised to know both that the numbers of supposed victims are very great indeed, and that for the most part, all the victims have basically the same story. These same descriptions of what happens to the abduction victims are global. People from practically all countries and all languages are providing the same descriptions. The same stories have been told by bush people who have had minimal contact with the outside world. What they are saying is that they are being sexually abused and that eggs and semen have been extracted. In numerous cases involving multiple abductions of the same female, after the lady abducted became pregnant, the abductors would remove the hybrid fetuses from the mother’s womb during the early stages of gestation. The baby would then be cared for by the "aliens". The mothers in some instances have met their "babies" at a later abduction. There is evidence that a part of the U.S. government is both aware of these abductions and in some cases a party to what is going on. No, this doesn’t mean that everyone working for the government is involved, but a small part of the military and a small "shadow government" seem to be involved. It does get convoluted. And though this subject does sound "out of this world" crazy, we should be careful to not completely ignore the evidence simply because we have not personally experienced the problem. And there is a lot of evidence. And it does, indeed, fit in with biblical prophecy. All in all it seems quite likely to be all too true. And it’s happening in this present generation. We should beware: the aliens are not aliens. They are FALLEN ANGELS!

TO SUMMARIZE: Let’s remember that for all practical purposes, all of the above ten prophetic events have come into being since 1948; Israel, the modern nation was formed in 1948. Coincidence? Perhaps the only prophetic evidence we should need to let us know that we are living in the last generation prior to the return of Yeshua can be summed up in one word: ISRAEL. With even a modicum of knowledge of the Holy Bible, it seems that it would be irresponsible for us to ignore what is happening with the Jews and the nation of Israel in our generation. Let’s also ask ourselves this question, "If this present generation is not the generation which will experience the return of Yeshua, then pray tell what in the world is going on with this present generation?"

An in-depth look at our world and society today brings on serious concerns as to how long we may have left. Even for the atheist who contends that he or she has no belief in a God, the signs of the times for this world are quite ominous. From weapons of mass destruction – to toxic air pollution – to over population – to natural disasters – to an inevitable economic collapse – to food and water shortages – to holy wars – to new exotic science fiction type super weapons, we are in a seriously desperate worldwide situation unlike any in recorded history. It seems that if there is no God to save us from ourselves, then we are truly headed for worldwide destruction which few if any will survive. But fortunately for us all, there is a God. Perhaps we should all pay much more attention to his warnings.

Lest we be concerned about having to live through the chaos of the end times, God does promise to snatch those who love Him and SEEK Him out of this dimension prior to the true horrors of his wrath commencing here on Earth. We will discuss this next in Chapter 5.
